25-26 April 2012 the 13th Congress of the Russian Society for Holter Monitoring and Noninvasive Electrophysiology, the 5th All-Russian Congress “Clinical Electrocardiology” took place in the Radisson Hotel Kaliningrad.
The ROHMINE Congresses are held annually in different regions of Russia. The event aims at bringing together professionals in the area of cardiology to exchange knowledge and experience, present the results of scientific research and discuss new tendencies in the area of noninvasive electrocardiology. Moreover the Congress provides access to the up-to-date professional information and state-of-the-art technologies to regional doctors who may have limited opportunities of participating in medical events held elsewhere.
ROHMINE 2012 was supported by the Administration of the President of Russia, Ministry of Healthcare of Kaliningrad Region, Administration of Kaliningrad. The Congress hosted over 200 medical specialists from Russia, Belorus, the Ukraine and Serbia. Kaliningrad region is an exclave and is separated from the rest of the country. However, cardiologists from all over Russia participated in the Congress.
The scientific program of the Congress embraced a wide spectrum of issues such as heart rate turbulence and variability, arterial hypertension, polyfunctional monitoring, syncope, sudden cardiac death and many others. Special focus was made on sports cardiology.
An exhibition of medical equipment and technologies used in electrocardiology traditionally took place in the frames of the Congress. 15 companies presented their products and technologies to the refined target audience. According to the exhibitors' words the exhibition reminds more of a workshop where congress participants can see all the equipment in action, test it, try it, see its advantages and drawbacks, consult technical specialists right away.
The Congress was sponsored by the leading companies in the area of electrocardiology: DMS Advanced Technologies, GE Healthcare, Schiller AG, Oxford Medical.
The results of the two days’ work were summarized at the closing ceremony. The current ROHMINE President Prof. Leonid Makarov presented Galina Ryabikina and Victor Tikhonenko with Honoured President diplomas.
